K-Nel
K-Nel was born in Nairobi Kenya, 'Nelson Mike Mithambo Miriuki'. His musical experience starts at the age of 4 singing in a gospel choir, the following years saw him write small plays and poems for local youth theatres. As a teenager and living with the trend, he found inspiration in the R&B and Hap music from the likes of 'Boys To Men, Tupac Shakur, Notorious Big and Jay Z. This inspiration brings K_Nel to a level enriched with influences from the music of other great Kenyan Artists.
Anglohili is born.
1999 Moved to Germany and went into higher education doing economics at the UC of Cologne. Performed every Friday at the club 'X-Cape' and pumped the party up. His gig attracted him to top Hip-Hop DJs like 'DJ 360 (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and 'DJ Mad' whom he worked with.
2001 Met 'DJ Physique 'head of' X-Men Squad' a top DJ Squad in Germany. Within the same year,K-Nel recorded his first songs with 'Hydro' and 'Fresh Brain'
2002 Started working independently and did other further projects with 'hydro' the street mix-tapes Vol.1 'We ain't Playing! Lots of parties both home and abroad.
2004 K-Nel's first album was produced by 'D Buzz' of 'Freemindz Records' in which top Djs and Artists like 'Middlefinger', 'Hydro" A.L."Metaphysics' (Sonne Mannheims) and 'Laygwansharkie' featured. Promo club tour in Ibiza. Projects with many other DJs, some to name 'DJ Killa Kutz', 'DJ Asha' (Choice FM), 'DJ AZ (Garage Music), 'DJ Shortie Blitz'(Kiss FM), 'DJ Tonyder'(G-Unit).
2005 Recorded with R&B legend 'Horace Brown'"Static Soldiers"'One for the money' Things we do for love' featuring 'Jay-Z! Performed at Kenya's independence day Grand celebrations in Cologne and later tour in Minsk (Belarus) and Alicante (Spain)
2006 Hosted the after show party for G-Unit in Cologne. Radio Interviews with Hot 96FM Nairobi, Kenya. Featured in the 'African Courier' magazine. With the great feedback from the title 'Mi Negro Lindo', a heavy rotation within the Hot 96FM station in Kenya and abroad. Today, it's one of the most requested on air.
2007 With his top hit 'Mimi Ni Hustler', K-Nel landed on no. 1 of the Hot 96FM radio charts. Thee video to 'Mimi Ni Hustler' will be hitting African TV stations. His classic album 'Voice of Kenya' is now released. Find in all leading stores, physical and digital.
